“As retired Army generals and residents of Georgia, we are concerned about the high rates of obesity among children and young adults in our state and its potential impact on our national security.
In Georgia, the percentage of young adults either overweight or obese rose from 35 to 44 percent during a 10-year period ending in 2009, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That equals over 300,000 overweight young adults in Georgia alone…”
