“As hard as many school nutritionists work to make healthy lunches that children will actually eat, many kids have access to vending machines in their schools that usually contain not-so-healthy alternatives. In some schools, students can buy snacks, soft drinks and candy if they have the money for the machines. Those are the very things many of our children don’t need access to in this era of obesity and inactivity among youth.”
